A Little About Me

Pamphilia Hlapa is not new to making adjustments in her life and the life of others. As an acclaimed author, she has documented her life story in her debut novel called “A Daughter’s Legacy”.  The novel published in 2006 emanated from Pamphilia using her writing as a form of healing. This form of therapy for her, found her writing to break the culture of silence that dominated her childhood to give other women comfort and hope. In “A Daughter’s Legacy” she breaks taboos regarding sexual violence against women and children, the shame associated with abuse and society’s inability to embrace those who speak about their experiences.“A Daughter’s Legacy”, as her first novel, has launched Pamphilia as a prolific author, speaker, spiritual healer, coach and mentor.

Over the next years, since the publication was released, Pamphilia has been afforded channels and platforms to continue to educate and empower other women through her contributions to magazines such as “Oprah” by the Associated Magazines, the “Agenda Feminist Journal”, “Face of the Spirit” and “Legacies of Courage”.

As a spiritual healer and speaker, she has delved into topics that aim to inspire and heal: “Cutting the ties that bind”, “Imagine a Woman in love with herself”, “Writing the Plight of Women”, “Breaking the Shackles of Bondage”, “The Essence of a Woman” and “Building Resilience in the Face of Adversity”

Her name became synonymous with acts of faith and transcending through hardships when her story was documented and aired on a South African Broadcast Corporation (SABC) “I am Woman – Leap of Faith”. The programme featured the lives of remarkable women exploring how they stepped into brand new territory when faced with life’s greatest challenges and opportunities. Each episode uncovered the turning points and pivotal moments of change in their lives. The programme also explored where these women turned to when the chips were down.

Her talent and passion was noted by the Desmond Tutu Peace Centre, where she served as a mentor for the Women in Leadership Writing Programme. A Project sponsored by Sanlam in Collaboration with Agenda Journal. This led to the publication of a book titled, RAINFIRE, published by Out of the Blue in 2005.

In 2019 Pamphilia’s “A Daughter’s Legacy” was followed by the sequels “Battles of the gods” and “Healing the Legacies”. As one who aims to share her struggles and achievements to inspire and heal, she shares accounts of her struggles with religion, spirituality and African traditional beliefs. “Battles of the gods” leads the reader through the maze that depicts Pamphilia’s life characterized by illness, deaths of loved ones, job losses, loss of babies, depression and anxiety.

Her teachings advanced from introducing her pain to the world to finding her healing point and sharing this with the world through her book “Healing the Legacies”.  Here she demonstrates her tenacity, faith, commitment and ability to move beyond the pain and hurt of her past into a life filled with joyful, successful, miraculous and abundant moments.

Her life is now the epitome of love and beauty and she continues to inspire and let women know that “For something to be beautiful, it must have been broken before” – a phrase by the Japanese that inspires her.

After reading her first novel, you will be amazed at the drive that exists within the powerhouse known as Pamphilia. She has developed a culture of succeeding beyond her expectations and this is noted by the countless awards, amongst others the “Women Demand Dignity White Ribbon Award” in November 2006, for disclosing the plight of women and children in her first novel “A Daughter’s Legacy”. The award was presented as part of the 16 Days of Activism and the International Day for the Prevention of Violence Against Women.

Pamphilia is currently pursuing her Doctoral Studies in Social Work after earning her Master’s degree in Child and Family Studies, two Honours degrees, one in Business Management and another one in Psychology. She also studied under the then United Church of Religious Science (internationally known as “The Science of Mind). She is also a trained and qualified Reiki Healer (Energy healing), Spiritual Mentor and Coach.

COVID 19 LIFE CHALLENGES

Dear friend,

You are invited to a series of 3-hour conversation events with Pamphilia Hlapa on the Topic: Rediscovering your courage to live beyond adversity in the “new normal”

As the changes brought by COVID 19 are forcing us to keep up and align ourselves with the “new normal,” it is indeed a struggle to stay positive and tap into our transformative spirit and energy.

While we are expected to move forward our once-so-comfortable existence is replaced with anger, grief, confusion, loss, frustration and despair.  Many of us are trying to reconstitute ourselves after the lockdown and while the basic human instinct is to recover, return and rebuild, the situation around us is not normal, it is far from being anything like ‘normal.’

The need to change and to embrace a transformative spirit and energy requires each one of us shape a transformative vision of where we want to go. Everyone must answer the question, “what sustains me through the trials that come after a disaster?” Unfortunately, emotional, mental and spiritual peace cannot be bought from the chemist. Our faith in this world, our faith in life, our faith in ourselves is the only thing that will uphold us if we devote ourselves to aggressively pursuing the courage within us. No matter how lost your vision may seem in the midst of this “new normal,” you can find your courage, claim it, use it, proclaim it and allow it to carry you through the transformative process of embracing and succeeding in the “new normal.”

As Maya Angelou said, “without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency.”

Your host Pamphilia Hlapa is no stranger to living and succeeding through the trials that come after disaster, adversity and loss. She had even written three books about her courage to live beyond adversity. Through these conversations, you will have a glimpse into Pamphilia’s story of courage, faith and a transformative spirit which is told through her three published books; A daughter’s legacy, Battles of the gods, Healing the legacies and her highly anticipated upcoming audiobook “At His feet with my sisters.” All her books will assist you to navigate any challenges life throws your way with peace and grace in the “new normal.”
